BroadhurstBroadhurst & Sons, the predecessor to Churchill Tableware Ltd, can be traced back to approximately 1860, when James Broadhurst opened the Crown Works in Longton. The pottery moved to the Portland works, which James purchased from John Aynsley in 1876. In 1897 James Broadhurst died and his two sons, James and Harry continued to manage the pottery until 1922 when the business was incorporated, and Edward Robert Roper became Managing Director. By 1933 the Roper family owned the whole business. In 1984 the business was renamed to Churchill Tableware Ltd. Click on one of the Broadhurst images below to view our current stock for that design.
