This is the smaller open sugar bowl for the coffee service in the Chevron pattern, manufactured by Denby Pottery. This is the version which is decorated on the outside with 3 rows of chevrons.

Chevron was designed by Gill Pemberton in the early 1960's. At its time it was quite an innovative design and a challenge in both design and manufacture. However it became very popular and was produced and sold in large quantities.
