This is the teapot in the popular Contrast pattern produced by Hornsea Pottery.  

Hornsea Pottery discontinued the Contrast range in the early 90's after a production run of nearly 20 years. The pattern is still very popular, but items are now becoming difficult to obtain in good condition.
