This is the very useful eight inch plate in the Connaught pattern, from Marks and Spencer. They are sometimes referred to as stater, dessert, breakfast or salad plates.

Marks and Spencer discontinued sales of Connaught several years ago. The pattern had been manufactured for them by Royal Doulton and is now much sought after.
