Poole Pottery Hand Painted Traditional Vase In The DO Pattern
A fabulour hand painted vase from Poole Pottery in their traditonal style. The vase is in the rarely seen "DO" pattern. It stands approximately 3.75" tall. From the Poole back stam on the base of the vase we are able to deduce that it was made between 1924 and 1950. The paintresses mark is similar to that of several paintresses of that period but we believe that this is the mark of Gwendoline Selby, which would furthe narrow the production period down to between 1946 and 1951. Please view the photographs to make your own mind up about the dates and the painter as the above details are only our own opinion. The decorative painting on this item is excellent. The vase is generally in very good condition but as is almost inevitable in Poole Pottery traditional ware of this period, there is some fine crazing on the body and base.
These traditionally hand painted pieces are now becoming very difficult to find in good condition. Enjoy owning such a lovely item and give it pride of place in your display.
