This is an incredibly attractive and VERY rare Poole Pottery stoneware sculpture of a cat lying down. It has been enhanced by the application of acrylic paint by hand. Please see the photographs to view the back stamp on the base where you will see the mark of Nicola Massarella. 

This is certainly one of the more sought after pieces of Poole Pottery stoneware and examples seldom become available.

Poole ceased producing this stoneware range several years ago. The acrylic painted style has now become very much sought after by Poole Pottery collectors. As a result, the prices have soared in recent years and items are becoming very difficult to obtain in such good condition.
