Poole Pottery Chestnut Smaller Lidded Serving Dish

Very useful smaller lidded serving dishes from the popular Chestnut range of Poole  Pottery. These dishes have a diameter across the top of approximately six inches. (7.5" from outside of lug handle to outside of opposite lug handle). The base stands approximately 2.5 inches tall. These Chestnut items are in excellent condition.

Chestnut was one of a series of patterns in the "Compact" shape, designed b y Robert Jefferson and first produced by Poole Pottery in the mid 1960's. It was a very practical style, designed to stack easily and safely.  The range was discontinued by Poole Pottery many years ago and has now become very difficult to obtain in good condition.
